Created attachment 169096 [details] 1.Photo That Is Missing Thumbnail In Desktop Settings For A Very Long Time; 2.Identification of The Photo That Has Slow Thumbnail In Desktop Settings SUMMARY *** Very slow generation of thumbnails in destop settings *** STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Put the attatched, small photo to "/usr/share/wallpapers/" 2. Right click the desktop and chose: "Configure Desktop and Wallpaper... Alt+D, Alt+S" OBSERVED RESULT The attatched, very small photo has initially no thumbnail resulting in a white rectangle. Comparing to other, big photos put at the same time into "/usr/share/wallpapers/", this small photo appears only after a very long time of waiting. Closing settings and right clicking again on the desktop, has no effect, as the white rectangle is still there. EXPECTED RESULT Thumbnail appears immediately, just like any other big photo you put into "/usr/share/wallpapers/" SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Operating System: Arch KDE Plasma Version: 6.0.4 KDE Frameworks Version: 6.1.0 Qt Version: 6.7.0 Graphics Platform: X11 Graphics Processor: Mesa Intel HD
Can confirm that the thumbnail for this image takes longer to generate than for other images.
Thumbnail generation speed was substantially improved recently, and there's no longer an unexpected slowdown here.
