Over all the decades I've been using Konsole app I took for granted this very useful productivity feature: the Konsole sessions have been saved and the windows with all their tabs got re-opened exactly in the same state as they at the system shutdown. However, after upgrade from Fedora 39 to Fedora 40 Konsole windows on the system start reopen in the pristine state with one default tab ~ (home folder). I tried find a reason or solution - no luck. Also, the arrow Up/Down arrow keys used to allow to navigate up and down the history of the commands executed in a tab - no more. SUMMARY STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Open one or more Konsole windows 2. Open two or more tabs in each, in each tab cd to various folders (the name of each will match to the default %d pattern, i.e. the name of the current folder 3. Reboot OBSERVED RESULT The windows started with a single tab, set to the %HOME folder - the previous sessions are not preserved EXPECTED RESULT All Konsole windows opens with all tabs, in exactly the same state. If the Konsole window was assigned to a particular virtual desktop (I have set of four), then it's location is retained too. Scroll is back after one of the upgrades.
I am seeing the same thing with openSUSE Tumbleweed, after my last upgrade. But Konsole 24.02.2 was not part of that upgrade, it had been upgraded earlier without breaking this functionality. The upgrade that broke this functionality upgraded plasma from 6.2.2 to 6.2.3. It also broke dolphin session save / restore in a similar way.
