Open Plasma system montor OBSERVED RESULT Memory/CPU values are only for specific process, and children does not add up. EXPECTED RESULT To be added up, see my attachment, it's clearly that brave doesn't use 700kb of memory. SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Linux/KDE Plasma: Depian 12.5 Stable, Plasma 5.27.5 stable (available in About System) KDE Plasma Version: 5.27.5 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.103.0 Qt Version: 5.15.8 Both x11/Wayland ADDITIONAL INFORMATION I'm a Windows user, trying to switch to Linux, but seems that everything is broken :D In other system monitor is 4.7gb(which I think is the correct one). I see people complaining about this on internet, because I searched to fix the problem, but I couldn't find a solution... since it looks like the column is broken and useless. I expected of course, that all the child processes to be added as the final memory(and CPU, and others). I see that in columns we have CPU Usage for children processes adding up, maybe add one also for memory?
The Applications view in System Monitor is based on cgroups, if Brave does something unexpected there we can end up not finding the right processes. For Plasma 6.3 a bunch of work was done to improve this. Can you retest with a recent Plasma and see if it still happens? If it does, please share the output of `systemd-cgls`.
