okular reloading a PDF, causing flicker in the UI

When using Okular in auto-reload mode (for previewing all sorts of things), it is important that it is smooth and changes as little UI stuff as possible.

This otherwise causes flicker effects.

Currently when reloading:

1. render pdf
2. dont render pdf, blank screen, okular icon is displayed instead (why??), the scroll bar at the right disappears
3. render new pdf

I attach a video of this, using typst in watch mode, creating a PDF. Okular is only involved in rendering and auto reloading the PDF.
