Description Peter Tselios 2024-04-17 14:36:23 UTC
SUMMARY
Apart from the issues with copy-paste that I already mentioned in https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=484666, another very important issue I have is that keyboard is not working anymore.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Install or update KRDC to 24.02.2 version
2. Open a remote desktop connection to a Windows 10 Pro machine
3. Try to type. Keyboard is not working. At all.

OBSERVED RESULT
Keyboard is not working.

EXPECTED RESULT
Everything should work just fine as with KRDC 5.

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Windows: Windows 10 Pro
Linux/KDE Plasma:
KDE Plasma Version: 6.03
KDE Frameworks Version: 6.1.0
Qt Version: 6.7.0
X11

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
* Using Remmina I have no issue with the keyboard.
* I installed the Flatpak version via Discover, I have the same issue.

I created a new Linux user, I still have the same issue with KRDC.

I have the same problem.
When I try to close krdc the screen freezes.

Operating System: openSUSE Tumbleweed 20240417
KDE Plasma Version: 6.0.3
KDE Frameworks Version: 6.1.0
Qt Version: 6.7.0
Kernel Version: 6.8.6-1-default (64-bit)

Broken on openSUSE Tumbleweed 20240524, KRDC Version 24.02.2.
No workaround known. Setting layout to en-US as noted in a previous bug report does not help.
Keyboard control works fine with freerdp-3.5.1-1.2.x86_64.

With 24.08.0 I am experiencing this issue on neon.
Sometimes the keyboard works at first, but stops as soon as I switch focus away from krdc, then come back.
Mouse works fine.
Maybe this is an issue with keyboard focus in wayland?

I had the same issue with 24.08.1. In my case it worked to turn off "Force RemoteFX". I had activated this due to a previous bug where "Force RemoteFX" was the only way to make KRDC work on Wayland at all - this no longer seems to be the case.

Currently using "Disable All Acceleration" and keyboard now works again!

Just adding in case this helps anyone else, and it might be relevant to finding the issue.

Operating System: Arch Linux
KDE Plasma Version: 6.1.5
KDE Frameworks Version: 6.6.0
Qt Version: 6.7.3
Kernel Version: 6.10.10-arch1-1 (64-bit)
Graphics Platform: Wayland
Processors: 32 × 13th Gen Intel® Core™ i9-13900K
Memory: 125.6 GiB of RAM
Graphics Processor: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4090/PCIe/SSE2
Manufacturer: Micro-Star International Co., Ltd.
Product Name: MS-7D89
System Version: 1.0

Scratch that... it works some times - and might work by reconnecting, but stops working fairly quickly and then doesn't work until disconnect and then maybe I can get it to work again if I try... It might then work for a short while, then the keyboard does not work again rather quickly.

Same issue on 24.08.2 as well.
