Thank you for adding your system details. I'm unable to reproduce this problem, using the same Desktop settings on either 6.1.3 or git-master. We need to be able to reproduce the problem in order to fix it. Do you have any KWin Scripts installed, or are there other settings you have that you can think of that might affect this?

I don't use any extra scripts or any third party widgets, this problem is always reproducible on my 15.6" laptop when I set label lines to 3. I suspect the spacing between icons' labels are miscalculated when 3 lines are used for names on small laptop screens. This problem only happens after a fresh login on my 15.6" laptop, and only one icon appears with empty name, after grabbing and moving the icon it reappears again, and it doesn't occur until the next fresh login.
Any chance this issue went away in Plasma 6.2 or later?

How extremely strange. I'm afraid I have no explanation. I guess you can try again with Plasma 6.3, which has introduced major plumbing changes to desktop icons.
Is it still happening in Plasma 6.3?

How about in Plasma 6.4.4 or later? There have been a lot of desktop icon bug-fixes recently.
