In Elisa the main "Tracks" list have play buttons when you hover over a track. The tooltip indicates clicking on it is meant to start playback from that track but that doesn't seem to be the case. Instead it either plays a random track from the library, or always the first one, never the one I actually want.

To get it to work I have to work around the issue by clearing the playlist, licking "+" to make a list with only that track, and then clicking play on the track within the playlist.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Open Elisa
2. Click "Tracks" on the left
3. Hover over any track (not the first)
4. Click "|>" (play) (example title: "Voxen - Rule 34.wav")

OBSERVED RESULT
A message is displayed saying "Playlist Cleared [Undo]" and "1hourthing - Sonic rainboom.wav" begins playing.

EXPECTED RESULT
A message is displayed saying "Playlist Cleared [Undo]" and "Voxxin - Rule 34.wav" should begin playing.

I recorded a video of myself trying to play the track mentioned in the reproduction steps to show more clearly what I'm talking about.

Hi - just checking, I can't reproduce this in the current git master version of Elisa. Could you please check in the current version (25.04.2) and see if you're still experiencing the same issue?

Thanks!

Hi, I have not had Elisa installed for some months now as I switched to using RhythmBox.

Installed the latest version today, though I had to use the flatpak because the regular version was conflicting with vlc and the problem does appear to be gone. Although there are now other problems (audio glitching on and off for shorter clips) so I likely won't be switching back.
