Created attachment 168268 [details] Screenshot of error message SUMMARY Copying an old event, or a newly created event, seems to work, but when I try to paste it in somewhere else in the calendar I get the error message "Error while trying to create calendar item. Error was: Invalid parent collection". STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Copy an event already in a calendar, or create a new "test" event and copy that (can use C-c or Right-click-Copy) 2. Try to paste the event somewhere else in the same calendar (using C-v or Right-click-paste) 3. A popup dialog box appears containing the following message: "Error while trying to create calendar item. Error was: Invalid parent collection" OBSERVED RESULT The error message attached. EXPECTED RESULT Successful paste of event. SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Linux/KDE Plasma: Debian Bookworm 6.6.20+rpt-rpi-v8 (64-bit) KDE Plasma Version: 5.27.5 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.103.0 Qt Version: 5.15.8 ADDITIONAL INFORMATION The message "Invalid parent collection" does not help me understand the problem or where the error might be.

I can't reproduce it locally just by following your description, could you please tell me a bit more? 1) Could you please specify in which view (agenda/month view/etc.) does this happen? 2) Do you have multiple calendars, or just a single one? 3) Do you have some calendar marked as default? 4) What kind of calendar is it (ical, DAV, Google, etc.?) If you have more than one calendar, you should get a dialog that lets you select the calendar to paste into. If you have only one calendar, the event should automatically get pasted into it. Could you please run KOrganizer from terminal with the following command: QT_LOGGING_RULES="*=true;qt.*=false" korganizer then try to reproduce the bug and provide here the log that's printed to the console?

I exited and restarted korganizer again from the console. I tried to add a new event, but it wouldn't let me. (This is different from the problem I had before where I *could* add new events, but I couldn't copy and paste events.) When I try to add a new event the pop-up dialogue window appears, I can write "test event" in the summary field, but when I click either Ok or Apply, nothing happens except all the options Ok, Apply and Cancel become grey-out. To kill the pop-up I have to click the X on the top right of the window. It then asks me (in another pop-up window) if I want to Cancel Editing or not. I can cancel and both pop-up windows disappear and my event is not added to the calendar. This seems to be the same as https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=485070 and https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=470517 I can reproduce when adding calendar entries for a NextCloud (Caldav) source.
