Created attachment 168118 [details] boxes fedora 40 beta login screen SUMMARY if you install kde workstation(39/40) in a vm(boxes in this case), when you first boot the login screen doesnt take up the full screen. if you login the screen goes to the correct size. if you restart from logged in state, you get the correct size upon being presented the login screen again. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. install fedora 39 or 40 beta into vm. i used boxes. 2. restart. 3. wait for first boot login screen. OBSERVED RESULT login screen is a fraction of the correct size. EXPECTED RESULT login screen to be the size of the boxes window. SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Linux/KDE Plasma: (available in About System) KDE Plasma Version: 6.0.3 KDE Frameworks Version: 6.0.0 Qt Version: 6.6.2 ADDITIONAL INFORMATION i dont remember if its reproducible directly after the install and restart. if its not, fully shutdown and start it again to get a freshly booted login screen.
I can reproduce this issue as well on GNOME Boxes 45 and 46.
Does this still happen? As Fedora uses KWin for SDDM, it should behave the same as the session.
