Description _ 2024-04-01 09:18:28 UTC
There was earlier bug fixed which opened multiple instances of Gimp (and possibly other programs) when "Open with default program" buttom is pressed. This bug seems to have reappeared in 8.3.0. appimage.

Due to a problem in the AppImage on current KF5/6 desktops, we can no longer use the KService function to run the default application.

However, we have added our own "Open With..." function so that this works correctly. You can use the "Open With..." context menu temporarily.

If I find a way to find out which is the "default application" for the selected files, we can also start it using this new function.

Hi all,

The digiKam 8.4.0 Appimage bundle pre-release is now based on last modern frameworks Qt 6.7.0 and KDE 6.2.0.

File can be downloaded at usual place : https://files.kde.org/digikam/
Take a care : the bundle is named with the suffix "-Qt6" not "-Qt5". This bundle is compiled under Ubuntu 22.04 and require a Linux with GlibC version >= 2.35 to run.

Can you reproduce the dysfonction with this version?

Thanks in advance

I have digiKam-8.4.0-Qt6-x86-64.appimage which still opens several instances.
