SUMMARY In Spectacle 24.02.1, I can hold down the Alt key and I'll see an underline appear in the GUI, which signifies which key to press to activate the button. But not for the first button. No underline appears there. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Invoke Spectacle 2. Depress Alt OBSERVED RESULT See that all items show an underline in the right place, EXCEPT for the Save button. EXPECTED RESULT All items should have an underline, including the Save button. OPERATING SYSTEM Operating System: KDE neon 6.0 KDE Plasma Version: 6.0.3 KDE Frameworks Version: 6.0.0 Qt Version: 6.6.2 Kernel Version: 6.5.0-26-generic (64-bit) Graphics Platform: Wayland Processors: 16 × AMD Ryzen 7 6800H with Radeon Graphics Memory: 14.9 GiB of RAM Graphics Processor: AMD Radeon Graphics
This may have been fixed recently - I can reproduce in Tuxedo OS on the same version, but not in neon unstable.
For me, it's the Save As button, not the Save button and only in the viewer window. What language/locale do you use? I use US English. I'm curious if different languages and locales can change which button this happens to.
Ah... The &S accelerator seems to be set to three different actions: "Save", "Save as", and "Include window shadow". Only one of them can work, and which one it is seems somewhat non-deterministic. On my neon unstable VM, it's "Include window shadow", on a neon unstable booted bare metal from an iso it seems to be "Save". Possibly different ones if I start in different conditions? The other ones don't get underlined, but I didn't notice it because I was only looking at Save.
Sorry, got confused with juggling three different laptops for testing. The varying behavior was between Tuxedo OS on a bare metal install of 24.02.02 where "&Save" seems to conflict with "&Show Annotation Tools" (or at least only one of them is highlighted). On neon unstable vm neither "Save" nor "Save as" got underlined, while the "s" in "window shadows" did, but restarting it again, this doesn't happen again and "Include window shadows" has I as an accelerator. Weird.
I'm closing this because in version 6.5.1 this seems to be a moot issue. The Save, Save As and Copy buttons are now only icons, no text.
