SUMMARY
On plasma 6.0.3 and almost all applications(gtk3-4/kf5-6/qt5-6) there is a big gap between the panel and the up and-or lower limit of those applications.

### Big gap = corresponding to the height of the panel

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Create a panel on the down/up/left/right
2. Open any application that you want
3. observe the gap

OBSERVED RESULT

See screenshots

EXPECTED RESULT

be able to open an app in maximized mode/full screen what ever the panel settings.

other remarks:
many people report troubles with some app (dolphine, yakuake etc..) but this issue doesn't relate with the app itself but with plasmashel.

the gap doesn't exist if the "dock panel" is in the auto-hide view ONLY in my case (no matter floating style or not/ position up or down , width...) !!!
E.G. when the gap exist, many yakuake features don't work (full screen, keep previous position) and adds to those already existing (identify the number of the screen in multi-screen case, stay above other windows).
for some application like yakuake the inconsistencies is very painfull.

If the visibility mode of the panel is always visible, maximized windows won't overlap with the strip taken up by the panel, and this is intentional. You can set the visibility mode to windows go below so that maximized windows can go below the panels.

it do works in auto-hide which is better than always to have on eye on the dock panel (visually intrusive and limits the use of the maximized view)
