Description Matt 2024-03-29 02:35:13 UTC
SUMMARY
nm applet does not report speed properly after switching to Plasma 6

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Open applet on panel
2. Wait for data rate to load

OBSERVED RESULT
Reported speed is absurdly high, observed data rates have been 4GiB/s and 18GiB/s, and do not change after loading

EXPECTED RESULT
Reported speed should be accurate, in my case about 5MiB/s

Thanks for the bug report, and I'm sorry nobody looked at it yet. A bunch of changes to network speed monitoring that made it into Plasma 6.4; can you upgrade to that in a week and see if the issue is resolved? Thanks a lot!

Not a problem at all, it was a very minor bug, and one I haven’t noticed in some time. I will report back after checking more exhaustively
Comment 5 Matt 2025-06-28 12:23:47 UTC
I checked the applet against a terminal app that reports throughput, and I have found them to agree. I think this can be closed.

Great, thanks!
