Description linuque 2024-03-26 22:05:54 UTC
SUMMARY
Widgets like clock, audio, show desktop, notifications, system tray, etc. are not clickable for the last row of pixels at the bottom which makes it very frustrating to quickly access them without the most precise mouse movement. This seems also true for the sides, however did not find a "dead pixel zone" between those widgets, just on the very side of the screen.
Applications that were pinned to the Task Manager are not affected (dolphin, firefox, etc.).
The Application Menu also has some unclickable pixels below, but not on the very left side.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Navigate cursor the the very bottom, then only move sideways, not upwards.
2. Click a widget like clock/show desktop/audio volume.

OBSERVED RESULT
Nothing happens.

EXPECTED RESULT
Opens widget.

Can you retest in 6.0.3?

6.0.3 seems not available yet through zypper. Just refreshed and says 6.0.2-2.1 is up-to-date. Will do when it's out.
Comment 5 linuque 2024-03-30 12:01:37 UTC
6.0.3 and it's still the same.
Comment 6 linuque 2024-04-05 03:12:15 UTC
changed status to REOPENED, because it's not resolved and seems to be closed?
idk if that's correct but this site is confusing to me, not a developer, just wanted to report this bug.

Can you run

> QT_LOGGING_RULES="qt.quick.handler*.debug=true" plasmashell --replace --no-respawn 2>&1 |grep qt.quick.handler | tee debug.log

, click the edge, and see what happened in the output?

and upload debug.log to Bugzilla.

I'm seeing this on Arch with Plasma 6.0.4.

You also need Qt 6.7.1 because Qt 6.7 doesn't include the fix
