I deleted the duplicate .mp3 copies of each song, leaving only FLACs. There are now eight versions of the album each with different artists. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Buy *Hardspace: Shipbreaker - Original Soundtack* on steam (or take some random flac files and set the album metadata to the same but the artists different) 2. Scan for new music 3. Observe result OBSERVED RESULT several copies of the same album, one per artist EXPECTED RESULT one album, probably under "various artists" SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Linux/KDE Plasma: NixOS unstable; Plasma 6 KDE Plasma Version: 6.0.2 KDE Frameworks Version: 6.0.0 Qt Version: 6.6.2 ADDITIONAL INFORMATION Workaround: use puddletag to set all the tracks to the same artist ("Blackbird Interactive" in my case) the ability to edit metadata from within elisa would be nice (e.g., right-click on an album -> Edit Metadata...)
I think this is because you're missing the Album Artist tag which should be set to "Various Artists", you can set it one-by-one in Elisa, however I strongly suggest using MusicBrainz Picard to autotag the entire album.
