Description AlexDeLorenzo.dev 2024-03-24 02:24:03 UTC
SUMMARY
If I create a Pulseaudio sink, it does not show up in the volume widget as a device I can control and switch to

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Add the system tray and set it to show the Volume widget
2. Run `pactl load-module module-combine-sink` to create a combined sink
3. Open Volume widget
4. Go to "Devices" to control the new sink

OBSERVED RESULT
The new sink doesn't show up in the volume applet like it did in Plasma 5.

EXPECTED RESULT
I should be able to switch to and control PA sinks from the widget like I was able to in Plasma 5

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Operating System: Arch
KDE Plasma Version: 6.0.2
KDE Frameworks Version: 6.0.0
Qt Version: 6.6.2
Graphics Platform: Wayland

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
I'm using Pipewire via Wireplumber.

The sink shows up in the system settings when I go to configure the audio devices. It just doesn't show up in the system tray widget.

Does it appear if you turn on "Show virtual devices", which is available from the widget's hamburger menu?

Thanks for the reply, Nate. The combined sink does show up when that option is selected, thanks!

I had a feeling. In that case everything is working as designed. :)
