Description dE 2024-03-23 15:06:15 UTC
This is the 1st time I'm trying out the PDF editing tools and it does not seem to work in an expected way --
For e.g. use the 'insert text' annotation. Problem --
1) You can select the area to which you can insert text. The area selection box (usually a dashed rectangle) is transparent.
2) You cannot select existing insert text boxes. ctrl+click does not work. Since this feature does not work, you cannot edit, move or delete the text box that you inserted.

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS

macOS:
Linux/KDE Plasma: 5.27.11
KDE Plasma Version: 5.27.11
KDE Frameworks Version: 5.115.0
Qt Version: 5.15.12

This is possible, however it only works while using the "Browse" tool i.e. when your mouse cursor is a grabby hand.

I agree that this is confusing.

I wonder if this should be marked as a duplicate of https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=443882 because the core issue that users are unable to edit annotations with the wrong tool are the same. Maybe no matter the tool, right-clicking an annotation should have an "Edit…" action that opens a popup with all the necessary fields to change the annotation in any way.
