SUMMARY KiCAD has visual bugs on my KDE Plasma installation with Wayland Session displayed on my 32:9 Monitor. After unsuccessfully trying to reproduce the bug on Plasma with X11 and GNOME with Wayland, I suspect that the fault could be within the combination of Plasma with wayland. I've attached a screenrecording of me reproducting the bug. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Open KiCAD Schematic- and/or PCB-Editor 2. Drag windows to edges or corners to resize I've attached a screenrecording of me reproducting the bug. OBSERVED RESULT A graphical bug appears within the KiCAD window when resizing. This does not happen every time but is reproducible on Plasma 6 with Wayland. EXPECTED RESULT The content should resize and position properly. SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Linux/KDE Plasma: Arch Linux/ KDE Plasma 6 KDE Plasma Version: 6.0.2 KDE Frameworks Version: 6.0.0 Qt Version: 6.6.2 KiCAD Version: 8.0.1-1

Hi - I've tried duplicating this on my Neon (Plasma 6.0.20 laptop with KiCAD 6.0.2. Running Wayland on Intel graphics. I'm not able to duplicate it currently. Are you able to confirm whether you have a discrete graphics card which might be a factor? Any other ideas on how to duplicate this would be appreciated. Thanks, Nick

So far I've encountered this bug only when plugging into the external monitor (via HDMI) so not on the internal display of the laptop. I also run a newer version of KiCAD - even though I don't know if that helps in any way. Thanks for your quick reply, hope some of the information is usefull to you. Cheers, Tim
Hi - I just re-tried it using KiCAD 8.01 (Flatpak) with my external monitor connected via HDMI. Cannot duplicate. I'll leave this here hoping someone else with hardware similar to yours, plus perhaps the non-flatpak KiCAD 8.01 can duplicate it. Thanks, Nick
Tested for the same bug with my desktop system (also with Arch + Plasma 6 installed) connected to the very same display with no problems at all. It seems like the bug appears only on my Laptop (Framework 16). Cheers, Tim
