Description gudvinr+kde 2024-03-22 05:58:40 UTC
SUMMARY
When I click on edit button for an app, system settings window freezes.
After some time, .desktop file properties appear.

Also I see a lot of log records in journald:
plasmashell[1099]: kf.service.services: KApplicationTrader: mimeType "x-scheme-handler/appstream" not found

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Open Autostart in System Settings
2. Open Edit dialog

OBSERVED RESULT
System Settings UI freezes.

EXPECTED RESULT
UI doesn't freeze, property edit dialog opens up immediately.

Does this happen with any particular application? Or all of them?
Comment 2 gudvinr+kde 2024-03-22 13:24:34 UTC
I don't think it depends on particular app. But I tried that now, and dialog opened up quickly.

However, each time I tried before, it did freeze. And I edited different apps.
I can't say for sure, but I have a feeling that it was freezing first time I did that in a session.

Have you uninstalled Discover? If so this may be Bug 482154.
Comment 4 gudvinr+kde 2024-04-12 05:55:36 UTC
Yes, I don't have discover installed because I don't use it.

I don't care about handling appstream links but since an app for controling apps doesn't really seem to be related to autostart, I think lack of discover shouldn't cause issues like this.

Also it's not set as required dependency for plasma (at least in arch and I believe in fedora too).
Comment 5 Nicolas Fella 2024-04-12 10:57:46 UTC
This has nothing to do with Discover
Comment 6 gudvinr+kde 2024-04-14 12:35:58 UTC
I can't reproduce this issue anymore, thus it probably shouldn't stay open.
