SUMMARY As someone who is colour deficient I am starting to use colour corrections that were added in Plasma 6 desktop effects. However the need for these are not universal. Although it helps with some work and browsing, it might not be wanted when watching media or not wanted when collaborating with people on the same machine (explaining that my colours are messed up on purpose is tiring). A quick toggle for colour blindness correction effect would make turning this on and off much quicker for those who need it STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Be colour deficient 2. Turn on colour correction effect 3. Need to turn it off temporarily 4. Navigate deep into setting menu to turn it off 5. Finish needing it off 6.Navigate deep into setting menu to turn it on Linux/KDE Plasma: Fedora Kinoite 40 (available in About System) KDE Plasma Version: 6.0.2 KDE Frameworks Version: 6.0.0 Qt Version: 6.6.2 ADDITIONAL INFORMATION This is a wishlist minor accessibility item
Seems like a sane request!
In the meantime to make life easier for you, you could create a custom keyboard shortcut bound to the command > qdbus org.kde.KWin /Effects org.kde.kwin.Effects.toggleEffect colorblindnesscorrection
(without the "> " part)
