After successful (?) installation on Win 10, digiKam app does not show any window.
Showfoto is slow but shows up.

We have already seen this behavior when there are problems with the OpenGL support of the graphics card.

Copy the "digikam_systemrc" provided here via the one in your system at: C:\Users\%USERNAME%\AppData\Local\

thanks for your answer, yet it did not contain any attachment, even less
with a file "digikam_systemrc".

You have to look at the KDE Bug Tracker website in your bug report, only the text message will be sent by email.

Thank you, I am not so familiar with these tools.

However, as requested I have replaced my old file "digikam_systemrc"
with the file found in the bug report.
Yet, it does not change the behaviour of digiKam.
I have monitored the task manager while starting digiKam,
and the new app process does not show up as expected.

That new ...rc file is pretty short :

Is that right ?

The file is intended to have this one setting only, all other settings use the default values.

Which digikam EXE have you installed exactly? Please post the complete file name.

my exe-file is "digiKam-8.3.0-Win64.exe"

I had the same problem with 8.2.0

When I start the digiKam.exe directly as Admin, the landing page
appears, says it reads all data then disappears and that is it.
Nothing in the task list !!

Here in my office digiKam is installed under Windows 10 with native Microsoft antivirus without any tune. It's start properly.

I also tried with the Norton AV on another PC, and all is fine.

Perhaps you need to set your AV to allows digiKam to start.

Usually, the DebugView program from Microsoft allows to see the log from your computer. If the AV lock digiKam.exe, you will be notified.

after installing DebugView, digiKam also started.
