Do you have the IBus Wayland virtual keyboard (System Settings -> Keyboard -> Virtual Keyboard) enabled?
(In reply to fanzhuyifan from comment #2) > Do you have the IBus Wayland virtual keyboard (System Settings -> Keyboard > -> Virtual Keyboard) enabled? No. However, it's not currently available since I switched back to X11 because Wayland is WAY too immature: - Taskbar dies too often - windows don't respect screen boundaries: - often open with title bar off screen - windows taller than screen - title bar focus ignored unless mouse moved away from title bar and back over it - text entry fields often miss first characters; most noticeable when opening a new tab and typing into firefox URL/search bar - no systray icons for claws-mail - claws-mail active folder highlight switches to a random folder which is not the current folder when mouse moves from main to compose windows - login: unlike X11, konsoles all open on desktop 1, wasting time re-orgaizing 10 desktops with 3 physical screens - fewer keyboard keys available (Calc key does not open kcalc as with X11) - can't do this: kkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk; only k,k,k,k,k,k,k,k,k,k,k,k... (this report) - some apps just silently disappear from screen - double-click (shade) on title bar does not work on all open windows Too many other issues to recall. The flickering is gone; but I'll deal with X11 flickering vs all the above...

System updated minutes ago to: Operating System: Mageia 10 KDE Plasma Version: 6.0.3 KDE Frameworks Version: 6.0.0 Qt Version: 6.6.2 Kernel Version: 6.6.22-server-2.mga10 (64-bit) Graphics Platform: Wayland Processors: 20 × 12th Gen Intel® Core™ i7-12700K Memory: 125.5 GiB of RAM Graphics Processor: AMD Radeon RX 6600 XT Manufacturer: Dell Inc. Product Name: XPS 8950 and problem persists.
Back on Wayland because KDE/X11 has become intolerable: - plasmashell crashes/restarts many times an hour - When screens (3 screens: LtoR order 1,0,2) go dark (power saving), most windows migrate to screen 1 Will see if KDE/Wayland is now more stable than KDE/X11...
On wayland the individual apps are responsible for key repeats. So you would need to report this to the apps or the underlying frameworks.
So you're saying I need to report this against all the following apps (just a sampling)? I didn't notice this issue on Mageia 9 or the early Cauldron before recent updates. - konsole - systemsettings - claws-mail - firefox - korganizer - LibreOffice (Writer, Calc, Draw, Base) - Dolphin - kalarm - k3b - kaddressbook - htop (filter) - konqueror - kwrite - nano I was running KDE/X11 until moments ago, now on KDE/Wayland - both are affected. Seems to me something is in common with all those apps... To be fair; auto-repeat does work in: - SQL-workbench/J - Signal-desktop - LibreOffice (Impress, Math) - SweetHome3D - chromium-browser - emacs - okular - filezilla Reported to https://bugs.mageia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=33092
Pierre, I tested this issue with KWrite, Konsole and LibreOffice (Writer and Calc) on Plasma 6.1.3 and it looks like the issue may have been fixed. Settings: When a key is held: repeat the key (600ms delay) Keys: Backspace, Del, Tab, Shift+Tab, arrow keys All the keys I tested did auto-repeat, where appropriate, in all the applications I tested. Are you able to reproduce the issue on Plasma 6.1.3? Thanks!
Looks like I'm still on 6.1.2 and I just updated everything and rebooted a moment ago. The problem appears to be fixed now. Thanks! Looks like a virtual keyboard issue on my fedora 40. If use 'IBus wayland' in virtual keyboard I will hit this, switch to 'None' or others it will disappear.
Hi hpt, The issue you're seeing with IBus wayland is due to an upstream issue: https://github.com/ibus/ibus/issues/2610
