SUMMARY *** NOTE: If you are reporting a crash, please try to attach a backtrace with debug symbols. See https://community.kde.org/Guidelines_and_HOWTOs/Debugging/How_to_create_useful_crash_reports *** STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Use HDR monitor (in my specific case an Acer Technologies XB273K GP) 2. Verify HDR is turned on 3. Allow KDE to go idle 4. wait for display to turn off 5. wake the system OBSERVED RESULT Screen is dim and HDR is turned off in the monitor firmware and must be turned back on or to auto EXPECTED RESULT Screen is normal brightness and HDR setting in firmware should be the same as before going idle SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Windows: macOS: Linux/KDE Plasma: (available in About System) KDE Plasma Version: KDE Frameworks Version: Qt Version: ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
NOTE: This is not reproducible in Windows 11 (work laptop connected through a dock), nor is it reproducible by manually powering down and restarting the monitor using the power button, so there seems to be something about the way KDE is handling the power down when the system goes idle that is triggering the behavior.
Please attach the output of drm_info before, and again after reproducing the issue

okay, KWin's still setting the output to HDR mode, so this is a driver bug. You can report it at https://forums.developer.nvidia.com/c/gpu-graphics/linux
