Created attachment 167410 [details] Desktop after rebooting when zoomed. SUMMARY I didn't know about the zoom feature and I used it unknowingly by using the Ctrl + Meta + mouse wheel. I could see the zoomed desktop with horizontal and vertical scrollbars and that when the mouse pointer was approaching the extremes of the screen it scrolled. As it should work. As I didn't know about the feature at that point and didn't care to investigate I just rebooted. After rebooting, the desktop is still zoomed. I still have scrollbars. Now that I know how to unzoom, it won't unzoom fully. The zoomed size is the new default. At this new zoom size the mouse pointer being in the corners is not scrolling, for some reasons I can't even use the scrollbars to reach the corners. It all seems pretty broken. I tried a screen recording but spectacle crashes, so I attach a screenshot. On that screenshot there are no scroll bars and it seems that the resolution matches my screen's. The area with Firefox open is more or less what I see on screen. The empty space is scrollable. I'm running KDE Neon under VMWare Player, but this doesn't seem VMWare related. Everything was running fine before zooming. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Zoom. Ctrl + meta + mousewheel 2. Reboot OBSERVED RESULT Unzoomable desktop back to the screen resolution. Unsuable scrollbars. (See description) EXPECTED RESULT No zoom. Size of the desktop fitting the screen resolution. SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Windows: macOS: Linux/KDE Plasma: 6.02 (available in About System) KDE Plasma Version: 6.02 KDE Frameworks Version: 6.00 Qt Version: 6.6.2 ADDITIONAL INFORMATION A workaround would be appreciated. My machine is unusable. I tried looking at config files at .local and .config with no luck.
This seems a case of PEBCAK. The zoom is maintained between reboots and when I did set the resolution I chose a wrong one. Setting my resolution to my monitor's got rid of the issue. Sorry.
