Description John 2024-03-15 20:58:34 UTC
SUMMARY
***
With only "a few" (124 files, mostly jpgs, some png and a very few small avifs) pics in folder, using "low resource mode" and clickign a file somewhere in the middle in Dolphin. opens Gwenview. After a very few seconds Gwenview crashes/exit witout warning. Repeatable 100%
***

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Put a few photos in a folder
2. Use low resource mode in Gwenview
3. Click a photo in Dolphin to view it in Gwenvie
4. Wait 3 seconds.

OBSERVED RESULT
Gwenview crashes/exits without warning. Repeatable 100%.

EXPECTED RESULT
Did not crash in KDE5. Never observed such behaviour. Make low resource mode work again without Gwenview crashing.

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Gwenview 24.02.0
Operating System: Arch
KDE Plasma Version: 6.0.1
KDE Frameworks Version: 6.0.0
Qt Version: 6.6.2
Graphics Platform: X11, intel only

Additional Info:
124 small jpgs/some pngs are not that many files. Its justa like a two swipes/finger scrolls. Its not a 1000. And even with a 1000 Gwenview should not crash.

If something crashed, we need a backtrace of it so we can figure out what's going on. Can you please attach a backtrace of the crash using the coredumpctl command-line program, as detailed in https://community.kde.org/Guidelines_and_HOWTOs/Debugging/How_to_create_useful_crash_reports#Retrieving_a_backtrace_using_coredumpctl?
Thanks!
