Thunderbird still plays sound for incoming mails during "do not disturb". This hasn't happened before in 5.27 and it defeats the purpose of DND.

Unfortunately this would be a Thunderbird bug. DND mode can only suppress sounds that come from notifications; if Thunderbird plays the sound via the main UI rather than a notification, we can't do anything about it. I know yo said this didn't happen in 5.27, but it's possible that Thunderbird itself was updated around the same time and made this change coincidentally.

Regardless, please submit a bug report for Thunderbird.
