Created attachment 167064 [details] Image of text pasted from Okular after copying with area selection tool. Following update of Okular and KDE, images clipped with the area selection tool are blurry. Previously, they were comparable to the original. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Produce a PDF in Kile using pdfTeX and view the result in Okular. 2. Check result using type1 fonts if applicable. 3. Use area selection tool to clip part of the PDF as an image. 4. Paste e.g. into an answer on TeX SE such as https://tex.stackexchange.com/a/712897/ (text) or https://tex.stackexchange.com/a/712900/ (diagram). OBSERVED RESULT Clipped images are very poor quality. EXPECTED RESULT Quality of clipped images is comparable to those produced using the same workflow prior to update. Same as 483204, no? *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 483204 ***
(In reply to Albert Astals Cid from comment #2) > Same as 483204, no? > > *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 483204 *** The symptoms are similar, but the problem is not related to force DPI in my case as I don't have that setting enabled for KDE at all. (I double-checked in system settings and it is remains unchecked.)
oh yeah, the force dpi thing in that bug seems like the user not understanding things. Probem is most likely hidpi related.
