Hi - would it be possible to explain in more detail why you would like this investigated as a bug? Since there have been a lot of changes in this upgrade, narrowing this down might take significant effort. Practically then, can you advise what the impact of this might be so that we can determine whether this does indeed need further investigation? Thanks Nick

Especially because I've also compared Konsole to Kate (in which I haven't noticed any font changes since plasma 6 update) and the fonts there do look different - Konsole has more spaced out letters, leading me to believe that this is a bug. As for the impact - not that big I guess, it is purely visual and doesn't seem to break anything. Still an issue though.
OK - I've done some similar tests between my Kubuntu system running Konsole 23.08.1 and my Neon system on Konsole 24.02. Both on Wayland. Both are set with the default Hack 10pt font. I can barely tell any difference, if any, between the two. As such I'm really inclined to close this one down as I really cannot see much merit in investigating further. Could you please take another think and let us know if you believe there is a genuine benefit to a dev looking at this (especially right now when things are busy just after the KDE Megarelease!)? If not would you mind closing this and if it does become a problem in future please re-open it with some background as to the impact and reasons for further investigation? Thanks, Nick.
In that case, I'll close it for now. Not exactly breaking things, just inconvenient.

Created attachment 168868 [details] Bolded items in lists have too wide spacing There's also a weird widened spacing in bolded items in lists. Here a list of konsole profiles with the default one bolded which is too thick.
Created attachment 168869 [details] kontact email folder list with bolded items too spaced out Here in kontact the email folder list with items bolded show that the spacing is too wide too.
Created attachment 168870 [details] message list in kontact shows new emails (bolded) with too wide spacing Finally the worst of all... I have my new/unread emails set as bold (very old school/thunderbird behaviour) in this example shows my spam emails and the ones that are set as unread are shown here as too spaced out. This was not like it in the last plasma 5.x.x. It looked a lot better.
It's actually hard to say what it is... it seems like it's too spaced out but also that bold is kind of "too bold".
