SUMMARY When resuming a session after my machine has been suspended, the auto-hidden panel doesn't react or show up until I switch virtual desktops a couple of times. Rarely it shows up *only* displaying the kickoff icon, but the rest of the panel visuals are missing until I switch virtual desktops back and forth. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Send machine to sleep 2. Resume session 3. Panel not visible, not reacting to screen edge SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS KDE Plasma Version: 6.0.1 KDE Frameworks Version: 6.0.0 Qt Version: 6.6.2
Does this happen on X11 only, or Wayland only, or both? Does it happen in a new clean session with a new standard panel? How about a customized panel in that otherwise new clean session? What kind of GPU are you using?

How about a customized panel in that otherwise new clean session? This was coming from Plasma 5, but I've removed all previous panels and added a standard one after the upgrade. > What kind of GPU are you using? This is an AMD Radeon RX 6500 XT, running with amdgpu.
Thanks. So are you confirming that: - auto-hide panels don't un-hide when this happens - non-auto-hide panels are affected by visually freezing when this happens - you can fix both issues by switching from one virtual desktop to another one a few times Do I have that right?

After further investigation, I have to retract some of my initial observations. It seems in all cases, the panel only shows the Kickoff button and is actually not frozen but reacts to input. This makes the panel so tiny however, you have to hit the screen dead-center to make it appear. That's why I initially thought it's frozen & now showing up. Starting a new application or switching virtual desktops back and forth seems to repopulate the panel with all the existing content, like my pager, task manager, tray bar and clock. Panel settings: - auto-hide - centered - fit content
This is starting to sound a lot like Bug 483188. Do you by any chance have multiple screens? If so, does the issue go away if you disconnect all but one? Also, if yo make your panel be alwayws visible, do the symptoms start to look more like what's being reported in Bug 483188?
