SUMMARY Opening some windows, on a scaled display only, while they are loading, will show them distorted while they are loading. The window size itself is correct, but the contents look as though it were scaled up from a small resolution. It only happens with a small amount of windows, but the main one I notice it in is when launching "Display Configuration". Note that this does not happen when opening Display Configuration from System Settings, only if you open the application from, say, the Application Dashboard. The window opens fine when opened from, say, KRunner on a non-scaled display. Due to the resolution of my scaled display, attaching a recording of the issue is tricky. But if others are unable to reproduce or understand, I will attempt to record one. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Open "Display Configuration" on a scaled display 2. It will open distorted while it loads OBSERVED RESULT Some windows, such as "Display Configuration", appear with their contents stretched and too large (although the window size is correct) when opened on a scaled display. EXPECTED RESULT The "Display Configuration" window and other affected windows display correctly and consistently across displays. SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Linux/KDE Plasma: 6.7.8 Linux Zen KDE Plasma Version: 6.0.1 KDE Frameworks Version: 6.0.0 Qt Version: 6.6.2
I can reproduce this on a single 225% scale screen by right-clicking on the desktop and choosing "Configure Display Settings…"
From how I recall this bug manifesting, I believe this is fixed in Plasma 6.2.0
That's great news!
I am having this issue with Plasam 6.3.4 on Arch Linux. please see linked video https://i.imgur.com/dPIUgwm.mp4
I can reproduce this using Nate's steps of a single, 225%-scaled display, using Plasma 6.3.4 on a Neon VM.
Marking as confirmed since it could be reproduced
This is a Qt bug.
