STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. open Dolphin 2. open Shortcuts KCM 3. search for "Create folder" 4. set "Create folder" shortcut to F10 5. apply the change 6. go back to Dolphin and test F10 shortcut: nothing happens 7. restart Dolphin 8. test F10 shortcut: now the shortcut works OBSERVED RESULT Custom shortcut to create a folder does not work until Dolphin is restarted EXPECTED RESULT Custom shortcut to create a folder works immediately, without restarting Dolphin SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Operating System: Arch Linux KDE Plasma Version: 6.0.1 KDE Frameworks Version: 6.0.0 Qt Version: 6.6.2 Graphics Platform: Wayland ADDITIONAL INFORMATION Can reproduce on neon unstable too.
Hi, thanks for the report! F10 is the default shortcut for creating a folder in dolphin. I am unsure if you are unsetting the shortcut and trying out a different shortcut. I tried unsetting the shortcut and set a new shortcut and it worked without a restart. Can you provide a bit more clarity on what you are trying to do? Thanks
On my systems the default shortcut to create a folder is ctrl+shift+n.
