Description dani22h09_pl 2024-03-10 08:11:33 UTC
Created attachment 166850 [details]
The undesired effect is visible in the lower part of the screenshot.

SUMMARY
The wallpaper isn't visible around the panel, when all windows are minimized. Instead, a rectangle appears.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Have panel with "floating" setting on and Bing image of the day as wallpaper
2. Open a window and maximize it. (In my case - Firefox)
3. After certain time (1 hour for me, could be less or more), minimize the window from the minimize button, by clicking the icon in the panel, or by clicking the "show desktop" button on the panel.

OBSERVED RESULT
There is an ugly rectangle, around the panel, covering approximately the potential displacement of the panel after floating.

EXPECTED RESULT
The wallpaper should have been visible around the panel.

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Linux/KDE Plasma: Arch Linux, kernel 6.7.9-arch1-1
KDE Plasma Version: 6.0.1
Qt Version: 6

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
The bug disappears if I change the wallpaper to an image and then revert back to the original settings.

What kind of GPU are you using?

Does it still happen in a new clean user account?

Does it happen on only X11, or only Wayland, or both?

I use an Intel Core i5 2nd generation Integrated GPU, Wayland only. It is not affected by custom themes, leftover from previous Plasma versions. Since the latest update from breeze 6.0.1-3 to 6.0.1-5, which I did yesterday, I haven't experienced any problems. I believe it has been fixed by it.
