Certain characters, like emojis, are not displayed correctly. Instead of the emoji, the unknown character symbol is shown. 

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Write or read a post containing an emoji

OBSERVED RESULT
The unknown character symbol is shown.

EXPECTED RESULT
The emojis should be shown.

Apologies, attachment was accidentally made to the wrong bug. I don't seem to have the ability to delete it. It may be related though?

I confirm this behavior. No emoji is shown in the app.

I found out in my search to solve this in Konsole, that it might be a qt thing. Perhaps this is of interest:
