SUMMARY *** NOTE: If you are reporting a crash, please try to attach a backtrace with debug symbols. It's working for me. I'm going to assume you're also in a Wayland session. Did you get a "Remote Control Requested" popup to grant KDE Connect permission to remotely control input devices? Also, is there a "Remote Desktop" icon in the System Tray? I will say, that if I click "End" via the System Tray icon for xdg-desktop-portal-kde (the service that allows KDE Connect access) there isn't a clearly apparent way to re-start it, and I had to restart my system to have the permission prompt re-appear (I tried unpairing and re-pairing my phone and it didn't re-show the prompt, or re-start the service).
> It's working for me. I'm going to assume you're also in a Wayland session. Sorry, yes, I am using wayland > Did you get a "Remote Control Requested" popup to grant KDE Connect > permission to remotely control input devices? No, I didn't get a popup > Also, is there a "Remote Desktop" icon in the System Tray? No. I only see the "xdg-desktop-portal-kde" in the system tray, but no "Remote Desktop" > > I will say, that if I click "End" via the System Tray icon for > xdg-desktop-portal-kde (the service that allows KDE Connect access) there > isn't a clearly apparent way to re-start it, and I had to restart my system > to have the permission prompt re-appear (I tried unpairing and re-pairing my > phone and it didn't re-show the prompt, or re-start the service). I can also click on xdg-desktop-portal-kde and it shows me an end button.
Looks like the tray icon gets renamed from "xdg-desktop-portal-kde" to "Remote Desktop" after I accept the permission prompt, which explains that bit, but I'm consistently getting both the tray icon and the permission prompt together. If you are consistently getting the tray icon, but not the prompt, this might be more of an xdg-desktop-portal-kde issue than a kdeconnect bug, but I'll let someone more experienced make that call.
Hi, just wanted to say it fixed itself after updating my system. I am now getting a prompt which I can click yes on and remote input works after that. These are the packages I think that fixed the error after I updated (pulled from `grep -i upgraded /var/log/pacman.log`) ``` [2024-03-12T21:10:35+0100] [ALPM] upgraded plasma-workspace (6.0.1-1 -> 6.0.1-3) [2024-03-12T21:10:35+0100] [ALPM] upgraded plasma6-applets-window-title (0.3-1 -> 0.5-1) ```
