Description Pedro Laranjinha 2024-03-07 22:11:21 UTC
SUMMARY
On Plasma 5 I had 3 panels on the bottom position of my monitor, with left, right, and center alignment each.
This is no longer possible with Plasma 6 as the panels now stack instead of overlap.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Create 2 panels
2. Set both panels to the same position on the same screen

OBSERVED RESULT
The 2 panels stack, as in they have different vertical positions, with one being above the other.

EXPECTED RESULT
The 2 panels overlap, as in they have the same vertical position, with both touching the bottom of the screen.

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Linux Platform: EndeavourOS
KDE Plasma Version: 6.0.1
KDE Frameworks Version: 6.0.0
Qt Version: 6.6.2

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
When the panel is stacked, it can cover the panel settings.

I can reproduce this on Wayland, but not on X11.
Comment 2 Jonas Verhofsté 2024-03-07 23:25:44 UTC
I.e: on X11 the behaviour is as expected and like it was on plasma 5 (where this worked on both X11 and Wayland): the multiple panels overlap. On my end the stacking only happens on Wayland.

Ah, this is a duplicate.
