Created attachment 166476 [details] A screenshot of the overview, revealling the desktop has already been loaded, but the splash screen forcibly occupies all workspaces until it decides to close itself. SUMMARY *** NOTE: If you are reporting a crash, please try to attach a backtrace with debug symbols. See https://community.kde.org/Guidelines_and_HOWTOs/Debugging/How_to_create_useful_crash_reports *** The splash screen stays on the screen for far too long. Flicking the pointer into the corner of the screen to activate the overview effect reveals the desktop is already completely loaded, including the panel. The splash screen is useless, artificially bloating out the desktop's startup time by about 30 seconds despite the entire desktop actually being loaded already. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Log in as normal with all default settings 2. When the splash screen appears, activate the default hot corner to show the overview effect 3. Observe the desktop already has been loaded, but the splash screen stays for too long OBSERVED RESULT Splash screen stays for too long EXPECTED RESULT Splash screen goes away very quickly, or ideally doesn't show at all since it seems completely unnecessary and no other desktop includes one SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Operating System: Fedora Linux 40 KDE Plasma Version: 6.0.0 KDE Frameworks Version: 6.0.0 Qt Version: 6.6.2 Kernel Version: 6.8.0-0.rc6.49.fc40.x86_64 (64-bit) Graphics Platform: Wayland Processors: 16 × AMD Ryzen 7 3800X 8-Core Processor Memory: 31.3 GiB of RAM Graphics Processor: AMD Radeon RX 570 Series Manufacturer: Gigabyte Technology Co., Ltd.
