Created attachment 166462 [details] screen shot of file manager window that pops up SUMMARY *** NOTE: If you are reporting a crash, please try to attach a backtrace with debug symbols. See https://community.kde.org/Guidelines_and_HOWTOs/Debugging/How_to_create_useful_crash_reports *** After taking a screen shot, if you click on the option to open the file in its destination folder, Dolphin isn't what's used. It appears that the system uses GNOME's file system utility (not sure if that's the right term). It doesn't hinder usage in any way, just unexpected/quirky/inconsistent. I'm not sure if Plasma 6 addresses it. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. take screen shot 2. click the option to open the containing folder 3. take a look at the window that pops up, as well as its icon in the Task Manager OBSERVED RESULT EXPECTED RESULT SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Windows: macOS: Linux/KDE Plasma: 5.27.10 (available in About System) KDE Plasma Version: 5.27.10 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.115.0 Qt Version: 5.15.12 ADDITIONAL INFORMATION apologies in advance if I chose the wrong product at the start.
This is unfortunately a longstanding bug in the FileManager1 DBus specification. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 397953 ***
