STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Click your user avatar, pick Choose File...
2. Open a sftp:// (or probably also other) kio network share
3. Pick a file from the network share

OBSERVED RESULT
The picture reverts to the default image in the settings dialog, clicking Apply fails with "Failed to resize image: writing to temp file failed"

EXPECTED RESULT
The picture is set from the network share, same as it would be from a local file
