Description Ilya Bizyaev 2024-03-03 13:54:39 UTC
SUMMARY

When my computer enters sleep automatically (based on the default power management settings), on wake up, the monitor gets no signal. I have to use the hardware button to power it off and on again — then the image is back.

This does not happen when invoking sleep manually from the application launcher or the lockscreen.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Wait for Plasma (PowerDevil?) to put my computer to sleep (suspend to RAM) based on the timer.
2. After a few minutes, press the hardware power button or move the mouse to wake it up.

OBSERVED RESULT
The monitor gets no signal.

EXPECTED RESULT
The monitor shows my lockscreen.

I'm not sure if the "multiscreen" keyword is right, I have a single monitor connected to this PC

I think I no longer have this problem with kdesrc-built Plasma. With stable packages built by openSUSE, Plasma sometimes fails to recover at all after suspend, but that's a different issue.
