Description Harald Sitter 2024-03-02 17:05:40 UTC
SUMMARY
In the game Battlefield V the mouse input while inside the game is broken and jumps around between looking totally up or totally down from the character. Works fine in the game menu. Also used to work fine with x11 on 5.27

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. get battlefield v in steam
2. use proton hotfix or proton 9 (beta) for compatibility
3. join a multiplayer game
4. try to look around by moving the mouse

OBSERVED RESULT
View jumps around wildly

EXPECTED RESULT
View follows mouse input

This may be the same issue I am experiencing:

Will watch your thread in case a KDE developer picks it up.

Looking at your issue it doesn't look the same. I've also been having the same issue as in the bug report above with space engineers. Moving my mouse at all causes the camera to spin around wildly.
I havent tried any other steam games / non native games yet but I'm pretty sure they'll have the same issues.

issue is most likely with proton not properly supporting some of the changes made in plasma 6 or vice versa.

Maybe related bug
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=452188

I am experiencing the same bug btw, link to the video - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9Jnx5kf505U

But it never happens in native CS2, for example
