Created attachment 166236 [details] Space before the menu In Plasma 6.0.0 the widgets on the panel do not go all the way to the sides and you have borders there. I use full-width , non-floating panel.
Sorry, I don't get what you are describing from the screenshot. Can you maybe show more of your panel and all the way to the screen edge? Also, I get some empty space on the sides when my panel defloats, but when it is set to non floating, the widgets move further out.
In plasma 5 the menu icon was all the way to the left side. In plasma 6 there is a gap. The screenshot shows the left side of the panel all the way to the screen edge. I will add another screenshot with plasma5 vs 6.

Created attachment 166247 [details] Extra border on left Maybe this shows better: - gap between the panel edge and the app icon on the left is 33px - gap between the icons and the next item (desktop selection) is 24px
IIRC this is intentional in Plasma 6. CCing Niccolò who can explain the reasoning.
Hi! Yes, this is intentional. I added the same margin that we use between panel elements to the left and right of all applets. Without this, many elements would look visually unbalanced and too close to the panel sides. I'll attach a screenshot.

it is your decision of course, but right now if you look at the panel as a whole, it is unbalanced. See attachment. 27px on the left, 22px on the right.

The spacing done by the panel itself is balanced, you see some extra pixels because all icons leave some extra margin, whereas the clock widget drawn until the very border of the applets. I'm not sure we can do much about it at the current time.
