Created attachment 166194 [details] moved file.png SUMMARY When you want to move a file to a folder you (before 6.0) had to press eg. Shift to move the file. Now it does no longer work when you *hold* the button. When you just press and release the function key (Shift, Ctrl, Alt) the operation does work. When the function key is pressed (so the action will be applied when you release the left mouse button) the symbol on the cursor does not change like it used to in 5.27. So there is no indication that the file will be copied/moved/linked. See attached file move symbol.jpg STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Left click on a file and hold it 2. Press Shift and hold it 3. Move file and drop it onto the folder (The alternate for 3 would be to press the function key once and drop the file onto the folder) OBSERVED RESULT When the key is held down, the context window pops up (see moved file.png) and asks you what you want to do with the file (copy, move, link). When the key is pressed once, the operation is applied. EXPECTED RESULT The file operation is applied whether the key is pressed or held down. (I would prefer the operation to be done "Like on Windows" so 'move' is default and does not require Shift, but that's a different topic) SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Dolphin - Version 24.02.0 Operating System: KDE neon 6.0 KDE Plasma Version: 6.0.0 KDE Frameworks Version: 6.0.0 Qt Version: 6.6.2 Kernel Version: 6.5.0-21-generic (64-bit) Graphics Platform: Wayland Processors: 16 × AMD Ryzen 7 4800H with Radeon Graphics Memory: 30.7 GiB of RAM Graphics Processor: AMD Radeon Graphics Manufacturer: Micro-Star International Co., Ltd.
