SUMMARY
My wacom pen will not align with the canvas. The pen works fine on every other part of the program but as soon as I hover it above the canvas it completely misaligns. I know the problem is not the pen because it works fine on every other program I use it on.

NOTE: If you are reporting a crash, please try to attach a backtrace with debug symbols.

Hi, Ronny!

Could you please tell what operating system you are on, Windows or Linux? And what exact model of the tablet you have?

I have the same issue on Wacom One 13. Windows 11 Pro, 23H2, 22631.3737. The only workaround I have so I can use the tablet is to restart the driver via Wacom Center. It's strange how the pen position is correct when used over the UI and all menus, but it's with big offset over the canvas only.

So my flow is: Open Krita and find out the cursor is with offset; Quit Krita (not only the document); Go to Wacom Center. Go to Settings and click Restart Driver. Sometimes it does not work with one restart so I restart it second time to be safe. Open Krita and open any document. Now pen/tablet is working properly. I seems it gets "broken" again after PC restart or something like that while the tablet is off.

Hi, all!

Could you please try switching API used by Krita from WinInk to WinTab? In Preferences->Tablet Settings (needs Krita restart after the change)
Comment 8 sam 2024-08-21 13:47:58 UTC
Hi I'm actually using WinTab.

WinInk was doing weird stuff so I switched to WinTab at day one with Krita. By weird stuff I mean when I paint the pointer was freezing as like Windows was thinking I do click and hold or something and was trying to open menus instead of painting. Not all the time but was really annoying.

Anyway, I've upgraded to Krita 5.2.3 few days ago and I was doing my "workaround" as I've used to, but due to this replay I decided do some testing. I've restarted my PC, put the PC to sleep, turned off and on tablet and all monitors in random order while closing and reopening Krita. The offset bug is gone for today. Maybe got fixed in 5.2.3 or something else is triggering the bug. I always had the issue in the beginning of my day so I was thinking is related to PC sleep or monitor setup.

Reflecting on my last comment, I've been considering additional actions I take after using Krita that might lead to the offset issue. Consequently, I shut down the tablet and started a game. I run the game at a lower resolution because my laptop lacks the necessary power. Windows performs its resizing magic (you're familiar with the flickering). Yet, when I exit the game, power on my tablet, and relaunch Krita, the offset issue resurfaces. Restarting the PC doesn't resolve it. It's only fixed when I manually restart the driver. It seems to me that some calculations within the driver become corrupted when I downscale the screen to play games.

With the latest Wacom driver 6.4.7-3 it seem the issue is resolved for me.
