Description mahikeulbody 2024-02-12 09:14:37 UTC
SUMMARY
My Digikam is configured to write Rating into Xmp.xmp.Rating.
To display Xmp.xmp.Rating with Custom Filters you need to set Rating from Basic Schema into XMP Viewer configuration panel. This field is described as "A number that indicates a document's status relative to others documents ...".

It is wrong : XMP: XMP-xmp:Rating is part of IPTC Extension Schema (not Basic Schema) and it is described as "Rating of the image by its user or supplier".

According to Adobe it belongs to Basic Name Scheme:

https://developer.adobe.com/xmp/docs/XMPNamespaces/xmp/

Furthermore, this description comes from Exiv2 and, if it were an error, would have to be reported there.

Report as UPSTREAM bug to Exiv2 project (:-))):

Well, Adobe doc says "The preferred namespace prefix is xmp", which is part of IPTC Extension schema which exists into the XMP Viewer configuration panel of digikam so...

I am more focused (and confident) on Exiftool and it is a cosmetic "problem" : once you know that xmp-rating is (wrongly) located into Basic Name Scheme instead of IPTC Extension schema, you are done. So I don't care to submit a bug to exiv2.
