SUMMARY Trying to open "Search" in the Workspace subsection crashes System Settings. As a workaround, I was able to use the search panel and access "File Search" directly and deactivate the File indexing. Then, I can open the "Search" settings directly without System Settings crashing. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. On a clean Plasma 6 session open System Settings 2. Try to go to Search options OBSERVED RESULT System Settings freezes, then grays out, then crashes EXPECTED RESULT Even is Baloo is indexing the user's home folder, the user should be able to access the settings and disable the file indexing without having to use the search bar. Can't reproduce. Could you provide a backtrace with debug symbols following the instructions here? https://community.kde.org/Guidelines_and_HOWTOs/Debugging/How_to_create_useful_crash_reports#Retrieving_a_backtrace_using_coredumpctl Thanks!
I also cannot reproduce anymore, even after enabling the file indexing again. I wonder if this was caused by some old data from Plasma 5.x... I will close, and reopen only if I can provide a backtrace.
