STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Attempting to fix an issue with flatpaks, due to them not able to launch. Proceeds to delete flatpak in the var directory by accident.
2. System tray explodes with errors of the Notifier.
3. proceeds to remove and purge flatpak and Discover app
4. Install them and errors are gone.

OBSERVED RESULT
Every time I turn off the system or reboot, I log in and the system tray still has the DiscoverNotifier errors. As for the Updates tab, it's gone, due to the errors

EXPECTED RESULT
Remove all the errors by fixing the notifier and make Updates tab to work again in the SystemTray

It sounds like you blew up your system by trying to work around a bug rather than reporting it properly the first time it happened. :) Unfortunately that can happen when you mess with things you don't fully understand. This is one of the reasons why immutable distros exist and are gaining popularity. In the future I'd recommend submitting a bug report first rather than going looking for a workaround, which can have harmful results if not done carefully. In the meantime, I'd recommend posting a request for help on a Debian-specific forum or else https://discuss.kde.org and hopefully people in one of those places can help you recover. Best of luck!
