On Plasma6, I got ghost icons. I attached screenshot. STEPS TO REPRODUCE Sorry, but I do not known, why it appears. I only try to change wallpaper on second monitor by invoking special dialog using mouse. In next step, I cancel change. OBSERVED RESULT Wallpaper does not change (indent), but ghost icons appear. EXPECTED RESULT Nothing happens. SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Windows: macOS: Linux/KDE Plasma: (available in About System) KDE Plasma Version: KDE Frameworks Version: Qt Version: ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

How bizarre. Do you by any chance have an NVIDIA GPU?
(In reply to Nate Graham from comment #2) > How bizarre. Do you by any chance have an NVIDIA GPU? APU from AMD and dGPU from NVidia. I use Wayland session of Plasma6. APU is default one, I think.
If this could be helpful. This happens on external screen. I am not very good in hardware standards, so I do not known if external screen is connected to APU or dGPU. I do not known, how mux working in my laptop. It is ASUS Zenbook Flip15.
Thanks. Based on the described symptoms, I suspect this is a graphical glitch caused by issues with the NVIDIA drivers, but I have no proof. I'll leave this open for now.
Do the ghost icons go away if you move some window over it, or try to mark them with the mouse, to trigger a repaint of the affected area?
Ghost icons does not go away, when moving window.
Okay, then this is relatively likely a bug in plasmashell, not in the driver
Does this still happens in Plasma 6.2.0 or later? I recall this being a bug we fixed a while ago.
Bug not appearing. Let's close this ticket. I will reopen it in future, If this bug appear again.
