SUMMARY *** Even though the network scanner I want to use is already set from last time I used Skanpage, I have to click on the bottom right button to search for available scanners and (again) select the one I want to use. Otherwise Skanpage just quits when I select "Scan". *** STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Start Skanpage. Correct scanner is already shown in bottom right corner. 2. Apply scan mode settings as required 3. Click "Scan" OBSERVED RESULT Skanpage quits EXPECTED RESULT Skanpage scans as per the selected settings SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Windows: macOS: Linux/KDE Plasma: Kubuntu 23.10 (available in About System) KDE Plasma Version: 5.27.10 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.112.0 Qt Version: 5.15.10 ADDITIONAL INFORMATION I have only one scanner that is connected via the network: Epson Stylus Office BX635FWD. However, that scanner shows up twice when I search for available scanners, namely as: - Epson PID 088F (epson2:net:nnn.nnn.n.nnn) - WSD Epson Stylus Office BX635FWD (airscan:w0:Epson Stylus Office BX635FWD) I'm using the former, because it offers more options for the scan settings, like using the ADF.
This works for my HP MFP scanner. Does it change when you select the other entry in the scanner list? This then uses a different SANE driver.
No change, whichever scanner was selected in the previous session. Sometimes skanage starts with searching for available scanners (which takes quite a while), sometimes it keeps the selected scanner from the last session (but then quits upon scan attempt). I now had one occurrence, where skanpage didn't quit immediately on the first attempt to scan, but did then quit when I tried to scan a second page into the document.
