I have received a jpeg which is oriented 90-anti-clockwise wrong in comparison to the rendering in Element webchat and Element Android clients. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. open private chat 2. upload an image using Element that has the meta data below 3. check the image in Neochat meta data retrieved with exiftool image.jpg (look out for orientation): File Type : JPEG File Type Extension : jpg MIME Type : image/jpeg JFIF Version : 1.01 Exif Byte Order : Big-endian (Motorola, MM) Orientation : Rotate 90 CW Compression : JPEG (old-style) X Resolution : 96 Y Resolution : 96 Resolution Unit : inches Thumbnail Offset : 150 Thumbnail Length : 4348 Image Width : 976 Image Height : 1600 Encoding Process : Baseline DCT, Huffman coding Bits Per Sample : 8 Color Components : 3 Y Cb Cr Sub Sampling : YCbCr4:2:0 (2 2) Image Size : 976x1600 Megapixels : 1.6 Thumbnail Image : (Binary data 4348 bytes, use -b option to extract) OBSERVED RESULT image is rotated anti-clock-wise 90 degrees EXPECTED RESULT image is not rotated I am running opensuse tumbleweed with kde frameworks 5.113.0 and qt 5.15.11.
