SUMMARY *** NOTE: If you are reporting a crash, please try to attach a backtrace with debug symbols. See https://community.kde.org/Guidelines_and_HOWTOs/Debugging/How_to_create_useful_crash_reports *** STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Have an existing install of KDE Testing 2. Update to most recent package versions 3. Try logging in either Wayland or X11 OBSERVED RESULT Hangs at Boot Splash Screen for an unusually long time (>30 seconds) then black screen with mouse cursor, can call Konsole and start applications from command line EXPECTED RESULT Plasma starts normally. Big smiles. SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Windows: macOS: Linux/KDE Plasma: KDE Neon Testing (available in About System) KDE Plasma Version: 6.0 KDE Frameworks Version: 6.0 Qt Version: 6.6.1 ADDITIONAL INFORMATION Affects Wayland and X11 session. I keep a user with default settings for just such an occasion and can't log into Plasma on that account either. I was able to boot a couple days ago (2/1) with Plasma 6, but KDE Frameworks at 5.249.0, installed yesterday (2/2) updates and shut down. Couldn't boot today (2/3). Tried updating, but those updates didn't fix problem.
I had the same bug. I was able to refresh/update the packages and get into desktop normally after getting to the command line (ctrl+alt+f4), logging in, and running pkcon refresh, then pkcon update. That being said - my 'HDR' option in the display is now missing and the scaling seems a little wonky.

Update: there was no HDR as I was reverted to X11 after running above updates. Upon switching back to Wayland, and rebooting - all is well again (scaling and HDR options)
